In the collections of Apple Bee, it is clear that designers with a passion for their craft are at work.
Our designers are rooted in the tradition of Dutch Design. You can clearly recognize the keywords minimalist, experimental, innovative, unconventional, and with a sense of humor. No baroque excess, but rather to-the-point and pure. The design is focused on the goal, the function. The interplay of lines and the materials used make the furniture unique. That is why an Apple Bee garden furniture remains a feast for the eyes even after years, because pure design quality is timeless. Take, for example, the Cocoon lounge set with its powerful round shapes; it was beautiful in 2005 and still is – all these years later.
SAKO WIJMA
Sako Wijma loves pure lines. Form follows function, so functionality remains leading. The design serves that purpose. Which is not to say that there should be no fun in the design; on the contrary! But always embedded in the overall picture of tranquillity and balance, in which the power of the lines is preserved. Sako pursues this peace and balance not only in lines, but also in a mix of materials. People often experience a sense of luxury and comfort from this. Although you can characterise his work as minimalist, his design is never strict and rigid, but rather friendly and inviting. After all, in this too, form follows function. “People are central; my design is there for them”.

RALF DE BRUIN
Ralf de Bruin designs products that are aesthetically refined and durable. He likes to work with luxurious and natural materials that you can enjoy for a long time. To experience peace, space is necessary. You can see this in Ralf’s designs. He is careful - almost reserved - in the choice of elements he uses. He consciously uses the empty space between the different elements to create a pleasant visual tranquility. Symmetry and a combination of organic and geometric elements play an important role in his design. This creates a contrast that continues to fascinate, making the design still interesting to look at even after years.
